What is Kodály training?
The Kodály approach empowers music teachers, preschool teachers, and conductors with an array of tools and skills that they can use immediately in their teaching. The training consists of developing the teachers' musical skills and equipping them with practical methodologies tailored to three educational stages: early childhood development, primary school, and high school. This approach ensures that teachers are well-prepared to integrate musical instruction effectively across various age groups and learning environments.
The next accredited Kodály levels course, organised by the University of Pretoria's Kodály Academy, will be held in Cape Town from 28 June - 5 July 2025. Keep an eye on our social media and website for more information.

"The characteristics of a good musician can be summarized as follows:
A well-trained ear,
A well-trained intelligence,
A well-trained heart,
A well-trained hand.
All four must develop together, in constant equilibrium. As soon as one lags behind or rushes ahead, there is something wrong."
- Zoltán Kodály
